Sittin’ here thinkin’ all about the ways and the days
That I tried, okay I lied - I can say that now
But hangin’ with the top shelf crew seemed so seemed un-me
Maybe you? I mean somebody tell me

How to go far, reach for the proverbial star
But miss the spotlight – that wouldn’t feel right
Man I had it wrong, so this song, a beat on my iPhone
Showed up at the end to break it on down…

You need to get your learn on...

Keepin’ it real seems like a really big deal (for realz)
As I kneel in my culture’s sanctuary
Public school walls, packed halls, and the stalls –
No one fall or your rep is in the mortuary

Pressure that you’re under – I felt it too
Tried to hide what’s inside, play the “yeah me too”
But a bird’s gotta fly so look up to the sky
And embrace the concept that the best you hasn’t been seen yet

How cool would it be to blow somebody’s mind?

Don’t punk out for the masses, living life like molasses
You don’t have to explain like, “sorry – I have a brain.”
